Seedlings can be grown in different environments according to production facilities and product needs. The greenhouse provides the possibility of better control of some environmental factors, but the final quality of the seedlings does not depend only on the place of production.
Advantages of seedling production in the greenhouse
- Possibility of better management of temperature and humidity
- Partial protection of seedlings against adverse weather conditions
- Possibility of planning production at different times
- Providing suitable conditions for germination and early growth
What factors determine the quality of seedlings?
Seed quality, environmental hygiene, cultivation substrate, irrigation, nutrition, light, ventilation and pest control all affect the quality of seedlings.
Thus, greenhouse seedlings are not necessarily problem-free, and outdoor-produced seedlings are not of inferior quality simply because of where they are produced.
What questions should we ask when buying seeds?
Ask the producer about the seed variety, growing conditions, seedling health, delivery time and shipping method.
Choosing the right seed should be done based on the needs of the product and the cultivation conditions.
The right choice depends on the type of product, the climatic conditions of the region, the cultivation time and the needs of the farmer. It is better to choose a seed that is in harmony with the cultivation conditions.
not always Proper management of the greenhouse environment can reduce the risk of some diseases, but hygiene and pest and disease control are still essential.
Seed quality, temperature, humidity, light, ventilation, irrigation, plant nutrition and environmental hygiene are important factors that determine the quality of seedlings.
