Tomato is one of the most important agricultural products in Fars province. Choosing the right planting time helps farmers to make better use of weather conditions and reduce the risk of environmental stress.
However, the appropriate time to transplant seedlings to the ground is not the same for all regions of Fars province.
What factors determine the planting time?
- Night and day temperature of the region
- Probability of frost
- Type of tomato variety
- Cultivation in open space or greenhouse
- Soil and irrigation water conditions
- Time to harvest the crop
Tomato cultivation in different regions of Fars
In the colder areas of the province, the risk of spring frost should be taken into account when determining the transplanting time. In hotter areas, the planting time should be chosen so that the period of flowering and fruit formation does not coincide with extreme heat.
In greenhouse cultivation, it is possible to better control the temperature; However, the cost of heating and ventilation should also be calculated in the cultivation plan.
How to prepare a suitable transplant?
Seedlings should be selected according to the transfer time, desired variety and farm conditions. Before ordering, it is better to inform the producer of the approximate time of transfer of the seedlings and the place of cultivation.
