Buying standard and high-quality melon seeds is the first and most important step to have a profitable, productive and economical crop. If you are looking for a uniform, sweet and marketable product, using ready-rooted cuttings instead of direct sowing will minimize your agricultural risk and significantly reduce the time to fruition.

The golden benefits of planting cantaloupe

Using seedlings instead of seeds has many advantages for farmers and greenhouse owners, among the most important of which the following can be mentioned:

• Industry and uniformity of plants: All seedlings are the same age and healthy and will grow uniformly in the field.
• Saving water and seed consumption: Eliminating the thinning phase and significantly reducing seed losses in the early stages of cultivation.
• Strong root system: Well-developed and healthy roots allow for better absorption of nutrients and greater resistance to stress. They become environmental.
• Shortening of the growth period: By removing the early days of germination, you reach the flowering and harvest stage faster.

Guide to maintenance and transfer of melon seedlings

In order to get the most productivity from melon seeds, it is necessary to observe a few points:

1. Soil preparation: The soil of the main land should be light, drained and rich in organic matter.
2. Transfer time: The best time to transfer the seedling is when the risk of frost is completely removed and the air temperature has reached the optimal level.
3. Primary irrigation: Immediately after planting the seedling in the main land, light irrigation is required to stabilize the roots.
